The Jungle Tapping

The Jungle Tapping

By Aman Jain

In the warm, green jungle, Manu the monkey and Nima the red panda were playing. "Ready or not, here I come!" chirped Manu.

Just then, their friend Pippin the penguin waddled up. "Shhh!" he whispered. "Listen!"

A strange sound echoed through the trees. Tap... tap... tap... It was very quiet.

"What's that noise?" whispered Nima, creeping closer to her friends. Manu puffed out his chest. "I'm not scared! Let's go find it!"

So together, they went. Manu swung from a vine, Nima crept silently, and Pippin waddled his best waddle.

The sound grew louder. TAP! TAP! TAP! It was coming from behind the waterfall!

They crept closer and closer, their hearts beating like little drums. The air was misty and cool from the water.

Manu climbed a tall rock to get a better look. He peeked over the top...

It was a tiny tree frog with big, round eyes! He was tapping a hollow log with a little stick, making a big, loud sound. TAP-TAP-TAP! "I'm playing my drum!" he croaked happily.

It wasn't scary at all! It was just a new friend making music. Nima and Pippin came out, and they all danced to the little frog's jungle beat.
