In India, Children’s Day (Bal Diwas) is celebrated on 14 November, the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fondly called “Chacha Nehru” by children. Schools hold fun fairs, teachers perform for students, and families find small ways to celebrate the kids in their lives. (Many other countries mark Children’s Day on 1 June or 20 November, Universal Children’s Day.)
