Sight Word “look” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“Look” is the word that gets children to pay attention: “look at me”, “look up”. The two o’s even look like a pair of eyes.
What’s on the “look” worksheet
Read and trace “look”, write it alone, circle it among book, lock, took, loop and like, then trace “Look at the moon.”
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to teach “look”
Draw eyes inside the two o’s of look and your child will rarely forget it. Explain that oo here makes a short sound, like in book and cook. Read it in little commands and point to whatever you are asking them to look at.
Sentences with “look”
- Look at the moon.
- Look, a red car!
- Can you look for my sock?

Game: Look and point
Write look on a card and hold it up as you walk through the house or garden together. Whenever your child sees the card, they read it, then point at something and name it. Take turns being the one holding the card.

Try “see” and “find” next: they also describe using your eyes.
Questions about “look”
Why do the two o’s in look sound short?
In look, book and cook, oo makes a quick sound. In moon and zoo it is longer. Children learn both by reading lots of words.
