Number 15 Tracing Worksheet (Fifteen)
Fifteen is ten and five: one full hand of ten fingers, plus one more hand. On this page your child traces 15, reads the word fifteen and counts fifteen balloons arranged as a row of ten and a row of five.
What’s on the number 15 worksheet
A dashed 15 with arrows, the word fifteen, ten frames showing 10 + 5, four tracing rows and 15 balloons to count and colour.
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to write 15
Write the 1. For the 5, start at the top with a short flat line from right to left, come straight down a little, then make a big round tummy that curves out to the right and back to the bottom left. Some children add the top line last; both ways work.
Ten and five
Fifteen is a great number for the ten frame because the second frame is exactly half full. Ask your child to notice the top row of the right-hand frame: five counters, one empty row.
What to watch for
The 5 is often reversed or drawn like an S. Tracing it several times with the green start dot at the top right, and saying “hat, neck, big tummy”, helps the order stick.
Counting idea for fifteen
Fifteen minutes is a quarter of an hour. Set a timer for fifteen minutes of tidy-up or play and watch the countdown together. Counting the last fifteen seconds out loud is a fun way to finish.
Game: Hands up for fifteen
Use paper hand cut-outs worth five each. Lay down three hands and count in fives: 5, 10, 15. Then count every finger in ones to check. Children see that counting in fives is a shortcut that reaches the same answer.
Where you see 15
Fifteen minutes past the hour, a quarter of an hour on a clock, and the 15 on a basketball or sports shirt.

Number 15 questions
How do I teach counting in fives?
Start with hands: each hand is five. Count fingers on one, two and three hands. Then use a number chart and colour every fifth square: 5, 10, 15, 20.
Why is it fifteen and not fiveteen?
The sound changed over time to make it easier to say, just like three became thir in thirteen. The pattern is still five and ten.
