Cursive Letter z Tracing Worksheet
Cursive z is an unusual letter with a small loop below the line. It looks quite different from print z, so it is fun to compare.
What’s on the cursive z worksheet
Cursive Z and z to copy, dotted z rows to trace and join, the words zebra, zip and zoo, and a line for your child’s own z.
How to write cursive z
Start with an overcurve up to the dashed line. Slide down to the baseline, make a small loop below the line and come back up to finish with an undercurve.
What to watch for
The loop of z is often skipped, which makes the next letter hard to join.
Joining z to other letters
The small lower loop of z brings the pencil back up so it can join on. Zip and zoo are short, fun words to practise. Practise za, ze and zo, then write zip and zoo. Say “over, slide, loop”.
