Sight Word “good” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“Good” is the word we use for praise and for things we like: “good job”, “good night”, “this is good!” Children hear it so often that reading it feels like a reward.
What’s on the “good” worksheet
Read and trace “good”, write it alone, circle it among food, goal, gold, hood and wood, then trace “Good night, moon.”
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to teach “good”
The double o in good makes a short sound, like in book and look, not the long sound in moon. Draw two eyes in the o’s to make it memorable. Then use it all day for real praise, writing “good job” on a note and leaving it on the table after a task.
Sentences with “good”
- Good night, sleep tight.
- This soup is good.
- You are a good friend.
- We had a good day.
Game: Good or bad?
Read out short sentences such as “Ice cream for breakfast” or “Brushing your teeth”. Your child holds up a smiley card that says good or a frowny card that says not good. Ask them to read their card aloud each time.
Practise next
Try “look” and “new” next: look shares the same oo sound, and new is another describing word.
