Sight Word “write” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“Write” means to make letters and words with a pencil: write your name, write a note. The w at the start is silent.
Game: Write it, find it
Write simple words on sticky notes and hide them. Your child finds each one, reads it and writes it again underneath. Count how many they wrote.
How to teach “write”
Write has a silent w and the i-e pattern: the e makes the i say its name. Compare write and right, which sound the same. Then give your child chances to write for real: a shopping list, a birthday card, a label for their door.
