What’s on the cursive c worksheet

Cursive C and c to copy, dotted c rows to trace and join, the words cat, cup and cow, and a line for your child’s own c.

How to write cursive c

Start with a small overcurve up to just below the dashed line. Curve back down and round to the left, along the baseline, and finish with an undercurve to the right.

What to watch for

Watch the starting hook: without it, c floats away from the letter before it in a word.

Joining c to other letters

Its final upward flick rises from the baseline, so c leads smoothly into a, o and u. In cat, the c and a almost melt into one shape. Practise ca, co and cu, then the words cat and cup. Say “hook and curve” each time.
