Cursive Letter b Tracing Worksheet
Cursive b is a tall loop letter that ends with a little bridge stroke. That bridge is what makes it join differently from most letters.
What’s on the cursive b worksheet
Cursive B and b to copy, dotted b rows to trace and join, the words bee, bus and bow, and a line for your child’s own b.
How to write cursive b
Start on the baseline with an undercurve that swings up to the top line. Loop back down to the baseline, climb back up into a small bump and finish with a short sideways bridge at the dashed line.
What to watch for
The most common slip is dropping the bridge, which makes b look like an l followed by another letter.
Joining b to other letters
Because b finishes at the dashed line, the next letter starts high. Practise bridge joins in be and by until the little sideways stroke feels natural. Try be, by and bu. Then write ball and bee, saying “loop, bump, bridge” for each b.

Activity: Balloon b
Draw a string from the baseline up to a balloon at the top line. Your child traces the loop of b as the balloon, then adds the bridge as a little ribbon.

Cursive b questions
Why does cursive b end high?
The bridge stroke ends at the dashed line, so it connects to the next letter from the top. Letters o, v and w work the same way.
Is cursive b easy to confuse with l?
Yes, both start with a tall loop. The b adds a bump and a bridge at the end.
