What’s on the cursive f worksheet

Cursive F and f to copy, dotted f rows to trace and join, the words fish, fox and fan, and a line for your child’s own f.

How to write cursive f

Start with an undercurve that swings up to the top line. Loop back and pull straight down past the baseline. Make a small loop at the bottom, coming back up to the baseline and finish with an undercurve.

What to watch for

The lower loop is often too big. It only needs to be small, like a little foot below the line.

Joining f to other letters

Once the lower loop closes on the baseline, f sweeps forward into the next letter. In fun, the sweep becomes the start of the u. Practise fa, fi and fo, then the words fan and fun. Say “up, loop, down, loop” as you go.
