Cursive E and e to copy, dotted e rows to trace and join, the words egg, eel and elf, and a line for your child’s own e.

How to write cursive e

Start on the baseline with an undercurve that swings up to the dashed line. Loop back down to the left and finish with an undercurve to the right along the baseline.

What to watch for

The loop of e can easily close up into a filled blob. Keep the loop open and small.

Joining e to other letters

The tiny loop finishes low, so e is easy to join from and to. Doubled letters like ee in bee are great for building a steady rhythm. Practise ee, el and en, then write egg and bee. A joined row of e letters looks like a chain of tiny loops.
