Tips for playing with little ones

  • Ages 3–4: play side by side. Read the question aloud (or tap the speaker) and let your child point.
  • Ages 5–6: let them play alone, then talk about the colours and shapes of the petals.
  • Ages 7–8: try the quiz, then hunt for real flowers on a walk and name them together.
  • Wrong answers are fine. The quiz waits for the right one, and only first tries count towards the stars.

Questions from parents

What age is this flower quiz for?

It is made for children aged about 3 to 8. Younger children enjoy the picture questions with a grown-up reading aloud; older children can read the names and play on their own.

Which flowers are in the quiz?

Rose, sunflower, tulip, daisy, lotus, marigold, hibiscus, jasmine, lily, orchid, lavender, dandelion, poppy, daffodil and pansy. Many of them grow in Indian gardens, temples and markets.

Does the quiz need sound?

No. Sound is optional. There is a gentle chime for right answers and a soft tone to try again, and your browser can read the names aloud. Both can be switched off with one tap.

Is it free, and do we need an account?

Yes, it is free and there is nothing to sign up for. It works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
