Sight Word “to” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“To” is a small direction word: go to bed, walk to school, give it to Mum. It sounds like “too” and appears in almost every story.
What’s on the “to” worksheet
Read and trace “to”, write it alone, circle it among go, do, two, toe and top, then trace “We go to the park.”
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to teach “to”
To is a rule-breaker: the o says “oo”, not “oh”. Point out that it is just two letters and practise it in phrases that show movement, such as “to the door” and “to the park”. Walk to the place as you read the phrase.
Sentences with “to”
- We go to the park.
- I walk to school.
- Give it to me.
- The cat ran to the door.
Game: Walk to it
Write short to-phrases on cards: to the door, to the bed, to the window. Your child reads one card and walks to that spot. When they get there, they pick the next card and keep going around the house.

Questions about “to”
How do I explain to, too and two?
Start with to only. Once your child reads it easily, introduce two (the number) and later too (also). Keep them separate at first.
Why does to not rhyme with go?
It is one of the rule-breaker words. Children simply learn that in to and do, o says “oo”.
