Maze Generator for Kids: Printable Mazes by Age
Print a brand-new maze for your child in seconds, from big, simple paths for 3 year olds to tricky 20-column mazes for 9 year olds. Every maze has exactly one way through, and page 2 shows the solution. No sign-up, no ads.
Made on your device: nothing is uploaded, no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Every puzzle is new; tap New puzzle for another.
How to use it
- Choose a level: Easy (6 wide, ages 3–5), Medium (10 wide, ages 5–6), Hard (14 wide, ages 7–8) or Expert (20 wide, ages 9+).
- Check the preview. Tap Answer key to see the solution path.
- Choose A4 or US Letter, then tap Download free PDF or Print.
- Tap New puzzle for a different maze at the same level; each one is generated fresh.
Why it helps
Mazes build planning and patience: looking ahead, spotting dead ends and trying again. Drawing a line through the paths without touching the walls is also great pencil-control practice before handwriting.
The paths are wide for younger children: on Easy each path is about 3 cm across, so little hands can succeed with a crayon. Each maze is a “perfect” maze: there is exactly one route from START to FINISH and no loops, so the answer key is always clear.
Mazes are drawn as crisp lines in the PDF, not as a blurry image, so they print sharply on any printer.
Parent tip
Let your child trace the route with a finger first, then with a pencil. If they get stuck, show them how to work backwards from the star: many children find that much easier.
Keep a few printed mazes in the bag for waiting rooms, train journeys and restaurants. They are a good screen-free filler.
Which level for which age
| Age | Level |
|---|---|
| 3–5 years | Easy: big, wide paths. Use a thick crayon and celebrate reaching the star. |
| 5–6 years | Medium: more turns and dead ends. Encourage a finger run before the pencil. |
| 7–8 years | Hard: narrower paths, so it practises careful pencil control. |
| 9+ years | Expert: 20 columns. Try timing it, or race a parent with a second copy. |

Questions
Is it free?
Yes, all four levels are free to print as often as you like, for home or the classroom. No sign-up and no ads in the tool.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The worksheet is made in your browser on your own phone or computer, and the PDF is created there too. Nothing is sent to us, there is no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
How do I print it?
Tap Download free PDF and print the file, or tap Print. Choose A4 or US Letter first: the PDF is made at that exact size, so set the printer to 100% or “Actual size” rather than “Fit to page”. The answer key prints as page 2; untick “Add answer key page” if you only want the worksheet.
Does every maze have a solution?
Yes. Every maze has exactly one path from START to FINISH, and the answer key on page 2 shows it.
Can I print the same puzzle again?
Yes. Each sheet has a number like #4821 in the top line. The tool remembers your last settings and puzzle on this device, so you can come back and print it again; tap New puzzle when you want a different one.
