    Parent Oven (parentoven.com, “Parent Oven”, “we”, “us”) is a free learning website for parents, teachers and caregivers. We publish printable worksheets, free online learning tools, stories, wishes and quotes, and a parenting blog. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, the choices you have, and how to contact us.

    By using parentoven.com you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

    Who we are

    Parent Oven is an independent publisher based in India. For any privacy question, write to parentoven@gmail.com.

    Information we collect

    Information you give us

    • Emails and messages. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to write.
    • Newsletter. If you sign up for email updates, we collect your email address (and your name, if you give it). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
    • Comments or sign-in. If you leave a comment or choose to sign in with Google, we receive the name, email address and profile details shown to you at that step.
    • Past shop orders. Our shop is paused. If you ordered from us earlier, we keep the order details (name, delivery address, phone, email and order history) for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Card and UPI payments were handled by our payment processor, Razorpay; we never saw or stored full card numbers.

    Information collected automatically

    When you visit the site, our hosting provider, security and caching tools and third-party services such as Google automatically receive technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location (city or country, based on IP) and the date and time of your visit. Most of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, explained below.

    Information we do not collect

    Our free learning tools (for example the worksheet makers, tracing and name tools) run in your browser. Names or words you type into a tool are used to build the page or printable on your device and are not sent to us or stored on our servers. Some tools may remember your last settings in your own browser’s local storage; you can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

    How we use information

    • to run, maintain, secure and improve the website;
    • to answer your messages and requests;
    • to send the newsletter, if you asked for it;
    • to understand which pages and printables are useful, using aggregated statistics;
    • to show advertising that helps keep the site free (see “Advertising” below);
    • to protect the site against spam, fraud and attacks; and
    • to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

    We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your messages for advertising.

    Cookies and similar technologies

    Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. We and our partners use them, along with similar technologies such as local storage and pixels, for these purposes:

    • Essential cookies, needed for security (for example our firewall), page caching and remembering your choices. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
    • Analytics cookies, used by Google Analytics to count visits and see how the site is used.
    • Advertising cookies, used by Google and its partners to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see an ad, and (where allowed) show ads based on your interests.

    You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies only. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended. Where the law requires it (for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

    Advertising (Google AdSense)

    We use Google AdSense to show ads on parentoven.com. Ads help us keep our worksheets, tools and stories free.

    • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
    • Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick (DART) cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
    • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices and, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
    • Other third-party ad vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on our site through Google. A list of these vendors, with links to their privacy policies, is available in Google’s ad technology provider list.
    • Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

    Our content is written for adults (parents and teachers). If any page is treated as directed to children, we will ask Google to show only non-personalised ads on it, as COPPA requires.

    Analytics (Google Analytics and Site Kit)

    We use Google Analytics, connected through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors use the site, for example which worksheets are downloaded most. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, time on site, device type and approximate location. We use this information only in aggregated form. You can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We also use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search; it gives us aggregated search data and does not set cookies on your device.

    Other service providers

    We share information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as much as they need:

    • Hostinger (web hosting, content delivery and email tools such as our newsletter form);
    • Wordfence (security and firewall, which processes IP addresses to block attacks) and LiteSpeed Cache (page caching);
    • Google (AdSense, Analytics, Search Console, Site Kit and Sign in with Google);
    • Microsoft Clarity, if enabled, to understand how pages are used through anonymised usage data;
    • Razorpay (payment processing for past shop orders); and
    • Amazon Associates: some blog posts contain affiliate links to Amazon. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies. See our Disclaimer.

    We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a transfer of the website to a new owner, who would have to respect this policy.

    Children’s privacy

    Parent Oven is a learning website for parents, teachers and caregivers. Children may use our printables and tools with an adult, but the site is not directed to children for the purpose of collecting their information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EU, or 18 under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

    • Our learning tools do not ask children for personal information, and anything typed into them stays on the device.
    • We do not offer accounts, chat or public profiles for children.
    • We do not knowingly allow personalised advertising to be targeted at children.

    This approach is intended to respect the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please email parentoven@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

    Your rights (GDPR and UK GDPR)

    If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct or delete it; restrict or object to our use of it; receive a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing that happened before). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

    Our legal bases are: your consent (for non-essential cookies, personalised ads and the newsletter); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a free website (for essential cookies, security logs and answering messages); and legal obligations (for keeping order records). Some of our providers, including Google, may process data outside your country, for example in the United States or India, using safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

    Your rights (California, CCPA/CPRA)

    If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion or correction of it; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for money. The use of advertising cookies by Google and its partners may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out using Google Ads Settings, the links in the Advertising section above, or a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal. To make a request, email parentoven@gmail.com with the subject “California privacy request”.

    Your rights (India and other countries)

    Wherever you live, you may ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent you have given us. Write to parentoven@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

    How long we keep information

    • Emails and messages: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
    • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
    • Past order records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (usually up to 8 years).
    • Security logs: a few weeks to a few months.
    • Google Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically.

    Security

    The site uses HTTPS, a firewall and up-to-date software, and access to the admin area is protected. No website can be completely secure, so please do not email us sensitive information such as card numbers or passwords.

    Links to other websites

    Our pages link to other websites, including Amazon, Google and social networks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

    Changes to this policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy when our site or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
