    About Parent Oven

Parent Oven is a small, independent website for families. It started as a toy and gift shop for children, and today it also makes free printable worksheets, picture quizzes, stories and wishes for parents.

    How Parent Oven started

Parent Oven began as a shop for children’s toys, books and gifts. We sometimes took the shop to pop-up fairs, where we meet parents and children face to face and hear what their children enjoy.

The free resources grew out of the shop: simple, good-quality printables, quizzes and stories that families can use at home without paying or signing up.

    What you will find here

How our free printables are made and checked

    • Designed in-house. Every worksheet is laid out by us, not copied from other sites. Tracing letters are single-line, dotted centre lines that show children exactly where the pencil goes, and the print letters use the simple a and g shapes children are taught to write.
    • Printed and tested. Sheets are printed on A4 paper and checked on paper, not just on screen: Is the text big enough? Do the pictures match the words? Do the answer keys match the questions?
    • Corrected when parents tell us. When a parent or teacher spots a mistake or something that does not work for their child, we fix the sheet and upload a new version. Recent fixes include clearer tracing letters, sharper pictures and pictures that better match their words.
    • Free to use. Everything is free for home and classroom use, with no sign-up. If you share a worksheet, please share the page link rather than re-uploading the PDF.

    A note about our articles

Parent Oven is run by a parent-focused small business, not by doctors or child psychologists. Our blog posts are general ideas from everyday family life. They are not medical, health or professional advice: for questions about your child’s health, development or behaviour, please talk to your paediatrician or another qualified professional.
