Helping your child learn “work”
Work sounds like “werk”: the or after w says “er”, as in word and world. Underline or and tell your child it is a sneaky sound after w. Then talk about jobs: who works in a hospital? A shop? Draw a picture of a job your child might like.
Play Busy workers
Act out jobs: a builder, a chef, a vet, a farmer. Your child guesses the job and says “a … works with…”. Swap roles.
