Sight Word “use” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“Use” means to do something with a tool or object: use a pencil, use your words. It begins with the sound of the word you.
What’s on the “use” worksheet
Read and trace “use”, write it alone, circle it among look-alikes such as us, fuse, uses, sue and muse, then trace “Use a pencil, please.”.
How to teach “use”
Use has the u-e pattern: the e at the end makes the u say its name. Write us and then use to show the change. Then go on a hunt: what do we use to eat? To cut? To write? Your child finds the object and says “we use a spoon to eat”.
Game: What do we use?
Ask riddles: what do we use to brush our hair? What do we use when it rains? Your child guesses and holds up the use card.
