What’s on the “get” worksheet

Read and trace “get”, write it alone, circle it among got, gut, jet, net and gem, then trace “Get the ball!”

Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).

How to teach “get”

Get can be blended, g-e-t, and belongs to the -et family with net, pet and wet. Build the family with magnetic letters. Then play fetch: ask your child to “get the spoon” or “get a sock”, writing each request on a card for them to read first.

Sentences with “get”

  • Get your hat, please.
  • Can you get the ball?
  • I get up at seven.
  • Let’s get some milk.

Game: Get it!

Write simple fetch notes, like “Get a red thing” or “Get a spoon”. Fold them into a bowl. Your child picks a note, reads it and races to bring the item back. Time each run for extra giggles.

Practise next

Try “went” and “want” next: they also describe things we do and often follow get in stories.
