What’s on the “see” worksheet

Read and trace “see”, write it alone, circle it among sea, bee, she, seed and sew, then trace “I see a big tree.”

Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).

How to teach “see”

Tell your child that two e’s together say “ee”, the long e sound. Draw a pair of eyes above the two e’s. Then play “I see” out loud, finishing the sentence with something in the room, and write the best ones down to read back.

Sentences with “see”

  • I see a big cat.
  • Can you see the moon?
  • We see the sea.
  • I see my mum.

Game: I see, I say

One player says “I see something…” and gives a clue, like a colour. The others guess. Whoever guesses right writes or traces see on a sticky note and adds it to a growing see wall.

Practise next

Try “look” and “find” next: they also describe using your eyes.

Questions about “see”

How is see different from sea?

They sound the same but mean different things. For now, teach see (with your eyes). Introduce sea later and point out the e and a.

My child writes sea when they mean see. Is that a problem?

Not a big one. Remind them that the see we look with has two e’s, like two eyes.
