  • We go to the park.
  • We like to play.
  • We can see the sun.

At the end of the day, write three sentences that start with we about what you did together: “We went to the shop.” Your child reads them back and draws a picture next to their favourite.

Questions about “we”

How do I explain we?

Point to your child and yourself together. We is a group word that includes the person speaking. Children understand it easily through family sentences.

My child mixes up we and me. Why?

They look alike when written; w is like an upside-down m. Ask your child to say the first sound before reading the rest.
