Not-scary Halloween for little ones
Every picture is friendly: smiling pumpkins, a waving ghost and a kitten in a witch hat. There are no skulls, zombies or spooky faces, so the sheets suit toddlers, preschool and kindergarten classes as well as older children.
What children practise
Halloween is a great hook for real skills. The tracing page builds pencil control and letter formation, counting covers numbers 1 to 10, the maze trains planning and fine motor control, and the word search and matching pages practise reading simple words.
Tips for using the Halloween worksheets
- Start with the learn-first chart: point to each picture, say the word and ask your child to repeat it.
- Do one sheet a day in the week before Halloween instead of all at once.
- Use crayons for the maze first; a pencil comes later when the path is clear.
- For the word search, find the first word together, then let your child hunt for the rest.
- Turn the coloring pages into decorations or party place mats.
