How to use it
- Print page 1 for a new baby, page 2 from about age 1, or both.
- Stick it inside a kitchen cupboard so it is easy to fill in.
- Write the date and a few words: “First word: ‘dada’, at Nani’s house.”
- When a page is full, keep it in the baby book or scan it.
Pair it with a milestone card
For photo days, make a matching card with our free baby milestone card maker: “Today I am 6 months old”, or “First day of school”.
A keepsake, not a development chart
These firsts happen at very different times for different children, and some will be skipped altogether (plenty of babies never crawl). That is why the page has no ages on it. If you want to know what most children do by a certain age, the CDC milestone checklists are a trusted guide.
Not medical advice. This keepsake is for fun. If you have any worries about your child’s development, talk to your doctor, health visitor or paediatrician.
Baby firsts questions
Is this the same as a milestone checklist?
No. It is a memory keepsake with no ages. For developmental milestones, use the CDC checklists and talk to your doctor if you have concerns.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. The pictures and lines print clearly in black and white, though the peach colour looks lovely in a baby book.
Is it free?
Yes, free for personal use, gifts and baby showers.
