Sight Word “too” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“Too” means also (“me too!”) or more than enough (“too hot”). Children say “me too” all day long, so this word feels familiar.
What’s on the “too” worksheet
Read and trace “too”, write it alone, circle it among to, two, toe, top and tool, then trace “This soup is too hot.”
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to teach “too”
Too sounds the same as to and two, so draw three columns and put a picture with each: an arrow for to, the number 2 for two, and a hug for too (me too). Practise “me too” whenever your child agrees with you.
Sentences with “too”
- I want to come too.
- This soup is too hot.
- Can I have one too?
- It is too late to play.
Game: Too big, too small
Collect items of different sizes and a toy that needs a hat. Try each item and read a card: “too big”, “too small”, “just right”. It works like the three bears story.
Practise next
Try “to” and “two” next: they sound exactly the same, so practising all three helps.
Questions about “too”
How do I explain to, too and two?
They sound the same. Too means also or very, two is the number, and to is for direction. Teach one at a time.
Why does too have two o’s?
Think of the extra o as “also”: too has an extra one too!
