Goodnight, Mira: Free Printable Foldable Bedtime Story Book
Mira is sleepy. One by one she whispers goodnight to the flowers, her kitty, the stars and the moon, then snuggles up with Teddy. Print this gentle little story on one sheet of paper, fold it into an 8-page book with one small cut, and make it part of your child’s bedtime routine.
Best for ages 2–5 · one sheet · one small cut · about 3 minutes to fold

Look inside
A sleepy little picture story
Big, soft pictures and short lines that are lovely to read aloud. The repeated “Goodnight, …” on every page lets little ones join in, and by the last page they can “read” it to you.

Cover, three spreads and the back page, exactly as they look once the sheet is folded.

Print your book
Choose full colour for a cosy night-sky book, or printer-friendly to save ink. Both come in A4 and US Letter. Print at 100% (“Actual size”), landscape, on one side of the paper.
Full colour (night sky)

Dark backgrounds, so it uses more ink. Looks beautiful on slightly thicker paper.
Printer-friendly (light ink)

White background and lighter pictures. Great for black-and-white printers too.
Fold guide (1 page)
A one-page picture guide with the six folding steps, to keep next to you while you fold.

How to fold your mini-book
- Print the sheet at 100% (“Actual size”), landscape, one side only. Lay it flat, pictures up.
- Fold in half the long way, top edge to bottom edge. Crease well, then open it again.
- Fold in half the short way, then fold each end in to the middle. Open it: you now have 8 boxes.
- A grown-up cuts along the dashed line in the middle, across the middle two boxes only.
- Fold the long way again, pictures outside. Hold both ends and gently push them together so the middle opens like a plus sign.
- Wrap the pages round so “Goodnight, Mira” is on the front. Press flat. Ready for bedtime!
Tip: 100–120 gsm paper makes a sturdier book. Keep scissors with grown-ups.

Tips for a calm bedtime read
Make it a ritual
Read it at the same time each night, after bath and teeth. Familiar books tell little bodies it is time to slow down.
Whisper the goodnights
Lower your voice a little more on every page. Let your child say “Goodnight, …” with Mira and point to each thing she sees.
Say your own goodnights
On the back page, ask: what will you say goodnight to tonight? Toys, the window, the moon outside: a sweet way to settle.
Let them colour and keep it
Print the printer-friendly version and let your child add colours. A book they made themselves is the one they will ask for.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. It is free for home and classroom use, with no sign-up.
Which age is it for?
It is written for ages 2–5: short lines, lots of repetition and big pictures. Older siblings enjoy folding it and reading it to the little ones.
My printer cuts off the edges. What should I do?
Print at 100% or “Actual size” (not “Fit to page”). Every page has a soft border, so normal printer margins do not cut off any words or pictures.
