How to Teach Early Grammar in 5 Steps

  1. Hear it: read rhyming books and talk about words together.
  2. Say it: use the grammar word in everyday talk (“that is a describing word!”).
  3. Find it: hunt for nouns or verbs in a favourite story.
  4. Try it: do Level 1 of the worksheet, then Level 2.
  5. Use it: ask your child to make up their own sentence with the new idea.

Grammar for young children is mostly talk and play. Keep worksheet time short and celebrate every “I spotted a verb!” moment.
