Lowercase Letter n Tracing Worksheet
Lowercase n is a short stick with one hump. It is the building block for m, h and r, so it is worth practising.
What’s on the lowercase n worksheet
Big dotted n letters, two tracing rows, the words nest, nose, nut and noodles, and a row to circle n among m, u, h.
How to write lowercase n
Start at the dashed line and pull a stick straight down to the baseline. Go back up the same line and make a hump over to the right and down to the baseline.
Where n sits on the lines
The n sits in the middle space only.
What to watch for
Watch for n turning into u. The hump of n faces up like a tunnel; u is a cup that opens at the top.
Words to trace
🪺 nest · 👃 nose · 🥜 nut · 🍜 noodles
Activity: Tunnel run
Draw a row of tunnels and have your child push a toy train through each one. Then they trace the n shapes: down the stick, back up and over the tunnel.
Try this at home
Build tunnels from cardboard tubes cut in half and push toy cars through them. Each tunnel is the hump of n, and the car’s path is the line your child traces.
