Lowercase Letter o Tracing Worksheet
Lowercase o is a round circle that sits in the middle space. It starts like c and closes up, so it builds on a shape your child already knows.
What’s on the lowercase o worksheet
Big dotted o letters, two tracing rows, the words owl, orange, octopus and onion, and a row to circle o among a, c, e.
How to write lowercase o
Start just below the dashed line on the right. Curve back over the top, down the left side, along the bottom and up to close where you started.
Where o sits on the lines
The o fits in the middle space, touching the dashed line and the baseline.
What to watch for
Some children start o at the bottom or go clockwise. Starting at the top and going backwards like c makes later letters easier.
Words to trace
🦉 owl · 🍊 orange · 🐙 octopus · 🧅 onion
Activity: Hula hoop o
Use a hoop or a big circle of string on the floor. Your child walks round it in the same direction as the letter, starting at the top. Then they trace o on the page the same way.
Try this at home
Roll a toy car around a round plate, starting at the top and going left. That direction is the one your child needs for o, a, d and g, so it is worth practising often.
Same letter family
Round “c” letters: c · a · d · g
Capital O: letter O tracing · Joined-up: cursive o
Lowercase o questions
