Sight Word “there” Worksheet – Trace, Write and Find
“There” points to a place over there: “put it there”, “there is a cat”. It is one of the most common words in stories, especially at the start of sentences.
What’s on the “there” worksheet
Read and trace “there”, write it alone, circle it among three, where, these, here and their, then trace “There is a cat.”
Prints on A4 or US Letter (choose “Fit to page”).
How to teach “there”
There does not sound the way it looks, so it is a classic sight word. Point to the word here inside there and say “here and there”. Then hide a toy and give clues: “It is over there!”
Sentences with “there”
- There is a cat on the wall.
- Put it over there.
- Is there any milk?
- There are three ducks.
Game: Over there!
Hide a small toy in the room. Give a clue card such as “It is there, by the door”. Your child reads it and finds the toy. Then they hide it and write or say the clue for you.
Practise next
Try “where” and “that” next: where also asks about places, and that also points at things.
